Lord's Seat.

Just returned from a walk to Lord's Seat. It was very windy as we got up there, but it was a very pleasant walk - long enough to be a "hike" even. We collected Juniper berries on the return to dry for incense-making. Posted by Hello

The Forge by the River Posted by Hello

Although we're only in this house for six months, we're making the most of being back home in the Lake District and living by the river and the woods. Next week we're having a party for friends in TABI, the Tarot Association of the British Isles, and the week after it'll be Samhain and so we'll likely be at the Stone Circle at Castlerigg.

Burning Kyphi

I just burnt Kyphi, an ancient Egyptian ritual incense, in our front room. It was surprisingly potent, opening up visions of strange figures, temples, and the open desert, as each aroma released itself from the incense. B. was very impressed. The ancient Egyptians said a day without incense was a wasted day, so I intend to get busy with my newly acquired box of various herbs, resins, woods and oils to make an incense for various moods and events. Our modern-day ritual requirements; relaxation from stress, de-toxing, partying, going up and coming down. If I get recipe's which are successful (or otherwise!) I'll Blog them.
