A Lakeland Anniversary
It's sometimes heartening to recall how far you can go towards your dreams; how far you can change; how far you can travel from where you think you might be stuck. It's never easy, never straight-forward, and you can fall along the way - particularly on the path of Love, but sometimes, just sometimes, when you try, you can discern some true and straight path through the confusion and detrius of the illusion.
Here's two pictures. The first was taken by B when she first brought me to the Lake District for a week's holiday, in the early 1990's. I told her then that there was no reason that we couldn't live there, even if I didn't know how. The second picture was taken earlier today, on our wedding anniversary, Beltane, in the same place, now that we have been living here for over ten years.
Tetelestai. It is paid in full.

Obi-Wan Kenobi and Bridget Jones Hold Me Up!
Interesting way to get delayed on the way home - was held up by a film crew with a field-full of NASA-style technical vans filming a scene in a farmyard cottage near Ambleside. Turns out, when I asked the crew-member who'd asked me kindly to switch my engine off in case the cameras picked it up, that they're filming for 'Miss Potter'. Not a spin-off from 'Harry Potter' as I first thought, but a film about Beatrix Potter, authoress of the 'Peter Rabbit' books and involved in the 'National Trust' that is now part of the Lake District National Park.
I thought it was a local film-crew, although I did wonder about the amount of serious technology I saw in the location, and then found out when I got home it's filming with Renée Zellweger and Ewan McGregor!!! So, I'll be able to go the cinema and watch a scene (of 'Hilltop Farm', where Beatrix Potter lived, although it was actually 'Yewtree Farm' being used) in which my car engine is being quiet off-shot!!!

Moving House Woes
Well, we've moved! My Mantra of the last week has been "Stress is not Soluable" which is to say, the plan of avoiding the single stressful day of moving we've experience before, by moving over five days, only resulted in the same *amount* of stress, generating to fill the time available, i.e. all five days! Urghhhhh! Anyhows, all done now, still in boxes, but - most annoyingly - no broadband as yet. So this is being written in small tiled utility room on a laptop balanced on top of an unpacked washing machine, on a modem connection provided by an old ISP I once did some testing with (and recalled their contact details for an internet connection) at 31k! Woah! So now browsing movie sites, downloading music, or posting photographs for us as yet!
And BT Broadband? Talking for half-an-hour at a time to someone in India calling me 'Mr Michael' is no way to pass a stressful day already. Sheeshh.
Anyhows, photos to follow at some point when we've broken the 28k barrier ... LOL.
